What do you wish you could or could have learnt in
architecture in the last 4 semesters or in diploma (for diploma students) that
would improve your understanding in architecture. (So something we have
provided less of)
The pursuit of
studying architecture is not an easy way to get graduated, one has to undergo
frustration, challenges, happiness and overall new experience. To me, architecture
is more to put into practice. To get exposure to new experience and resources. Architecture
is boundless and infinity of imagination one has to get used to it apart from
just imagining in a box. There’s only originality. As the application of ‘Knowledge’
varies from building to building, place to place, and to people. This is what
make architecture “Fun”, as our profession has the ability to make our world
better place.
After studying two
years in diploma, and currently bachelor of architecture… I feel great studying
in ucsi to provide such a creative learning process in architecture which
brings up my passion about building design and construction knowledge to get
into the creative field. Undergoing architecture studies, for past years and
pursuing years breaks through the other side of imaginative process for myself and
my fellow mates. The useful crit session and advise from lectures and friends
makes us to travel beyond our imagination. This knowledge of juries, friends doesn’t
stop when graduated, but keeps going while practicing architecture.
Architecture is not
only gaining knowledge through designing and practicing, but what makes us
really to pursue architecture is to meet deadlines, communicate with
architectural languages and gather greater confidence in terms of challenging ownself.
Learning is not always in a easy road to achieve what we want, but despite the
path we choose, challenges, struggles is what makes oneself gain confidence and
have guts to face the reality. The basic aspects of architecture knowledge through carrier is not
just about drawing skills, sketches, and software to communicate to people in
the same field. And most importantly this does not comes from few days of practice,
this requires amassing amount of practice and experience in order to communicate
the idea of design. Overall, this comes from the years of experience in
pursuing the passion and love toward the working life.
The basic knowledge is
how to design? This might look simple
but there is no end of it. The process
we go through while designing is analysis, schematic, drawings and use of
softwares. These are the thins student undergo while pursuing their passion but
we as a student we tend to forget the importance design is not just about
designing a space but its all about unifying elements and much more than just
building. It is the ability to communicate, coming through boundaries and bring
up a new ideas. It is a creative field filled with potential & creative
ideas and competitive world.
Every student/practicing
architect has their own ideas, but what makes them to generate is how well we
try to gel with working environment and selfless effort to make it success. The
purpose of studying architecture is to have interactive learning model of
architecture design based on social learning and thinking that can provide guidance
for us as a student in design world. And
solving the design issue and overcoming it. On the other hand, the learning
efficiency in terms of analogical thinking is one of the skills as a student
has to improvise in terms of designing. This makes them to realize their current
potential and generate them to better outcome on their ideas for the design.
In the end, students has to work in the studios, to get
inspiration and energy to boost the design level and get reduced stress level
in order to have joyful and learning environment. The field of architecture
study is the all about social learning and thinking towards ourself and as well
interaction between lectures and fellow mates. This brings them the ideas to
generate and to develop the flexibility use of knowledge. This brings them
creative design and know how to solve the design issue. To me, Architecture is
all about fun filled learning with challenges, ideas and strong architectural
language communication, thus it connects the creative people around the world. The
more student get exposure to reality and socialize with people, student can
achieve the good quality of architectural education.
