Honesty and Deception are predominantly about the expression of the structure and the expression of the design approach of the architect who designed it .
The style and the concept and also the site have seek and speak the true reason behind any buildings for this era unlike in past they have used same kind of style all over the world as outstanding building.
Structure is withstand by the materials ,and all the issues that honesty and deception concepts are arguing is about the material used.
Other than that ,the structure of the skeleton of the building is still remain although the facade is hid or changed.
Honesty plays a main role in contemporary architecture which is maintain the importance of essential qualities of material and the true architacture style , no materials or texture are gonna be covered up. But the special of the material can be shown up through out the outlook of the building . Truth in structural , surface and ornamentation can ensure that the building is on a standard quality.
So today i want to talk about the 2 most famous architect's work who are crazy in their own world but different perception on architecture.
HONESTY VS DECEPTION
1. Zaha Hadid (heydar aliyev center)
2. Frank Gehry (louis vuitton)1. Zaha Hadid (heydar aliyev center)
Eventhough Zaha Hadid's Heydar aliyev center docs looks like deception, the true reasons for the shape and the material usage on exterior and interior according to the site (Baku, Azerbaijan) which is has very strong wind force, the rage is temperature which is 2degree till 30degree, oil producing area, earthquake prone area make us think that building actually speaks honesty in architecture.
The honesty of architecture wins when the architect use the right material, shape of material, and weight according to the site no matter how crazy it looks.

under these harsh condition, typical roof tiling will blow right off the building. to mange with this extreme engineers are cladding the cultural centre with multi-layered panels constructed out of glass finer reinforced polymer - a high tech, lightweight material endowed with exceptional strength. each panels is formed to match a different position along the parallel curving roof and then it is secured to each neighbouring panel. the end result: a singular skin that wraps the entire building and is strong enough to withstand even hurricane force winds.
On the other hand, deception plays its role in modern architecture that many modern buildings are designed to have the look of being functional, however they are not always actually functional. It gives us an incredible impression on our first sight , with its fancy design and outlooking. As example, the Foundation Loius vuitton building designed by Frank Gehry speaks a lot about deception on the exterior.
Constructed on the edge of a water garden created especially for the project, the building comprises an assemblage of white blocks (known as “the icebergs”) clad in panels of fiber-reinforced concrete, surrounded by twelve immense glass “sails” supported by wooden beams. The sails give Fondation Louis Vuitton and its opaqueness and sense of flow from one end to the other end, at the same time allowing the building to reflect the water, woods and garden and continually change with the light.
Those concepts of using materials and sail kind of thing doesn't connect to the site (paris, France. if the building connects to the site and the environment gehry's this building would be in the list of honesty.
As conclusion, even those same kind architects have produced the same level of work sometimes it will never tally with the site and environment and thats how we judge their work. Potential of new materials with the honesty concepts , which slightly supporting Violett-Le-Duc ,since we are moving forward to a new era in architecture with high tech, new materials and modern architecture are the main issues that we are going to focus on , but the ordinary theories on architecture should be learnt and apply too.
